The answers you seek are hidden beyond grasp
While the dreams you bleed are mated with failure
Aghast at this sight you turn numb to the touch
…And tragedy will befall us all while we watch inert in the dark
The shadows you feed are those you crawl in
While the wounds you heal are the gates to grief
Aghast at this sight you turn numb to the touch
…And tragedy will befall us all while we watch inert in the dark
I surpassed my chance to end this a long time ago
Tempting dreams of sin are nothing
but a shadow of the past
Faltering weak towards the void with nothing
but emptiness in my heart.
In this vastness i am only reflected
into the undiluted sea of forlornness
Deathless falling towards the eternal darkness
Strengthless flawing towards the gleaming loneliness

One of the best black metal bands of the last 8 years, which means they're beyond the boring tropes of the label. Intelligent and innovative with music geared towards the emotive ends of the work, not an adornment of scene badges or theatrical misanthropy. stevstemac

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing. Exactly what I want. Recommended! David Fischer
